One of our ongoing Leonardo da Vinci mobility projects is POTENCIAL. Professional orientation tendencies in consulting youth with special needs“, No. LLP-LdV-VETPRO-2010-LT-0477, 2010-2011.
Project participants were psychologists from different secondary (basic) schools and gymnasiums in Klaipeda. They visited related organizations in Reykjavik, Iceland. Mobility visit was organized 04-10 September, 2010.
The main objective of the project was to provide the opportunity for career counselors to acquire new knowledge in work with young people of special needs, and thus properly orientate them in career counseling in the changed socio-economic environment. Particular attention was paid to career guidance techniques used in the work of the two targeted groups - to compare pupils with learning disabilities and gifted pupils.
The project involved 11 primary Klaipeda vocational guidance and counseling professionals who work in schools and are responsible for providing support to young people with special needs. These specialists participated in a week-long training in Iceland.
Conference "Carreer counseling of youth with special educational needs: Lithuanian and foreign experience" for career counselors were organized 26 January, 2011.

SDCC actively collaborated in Leonardo da Vinci mobility project PROVINSE. Professional orientation and consultation in new social – economical environment. 2009 - 2010
The main propose of the project was to develop competences of professional and vocational consultants in Klaipeda region adapting them to new socio-economical environment.
One of the project tasks was to introduce European experience in professional and vocational consulting and to find out how professional consulting system is adapted to new social-economical environment in other countries, what concrete methods in consulting are the most beneficial.
Project participants were 11 professional and vocational consultants of the primary level which are responsible for assistance in helping young people to choose their future profession suitable in changing socio-economical environment.
Place and date of the visit: Limasoul Cyprus, October 11-17, 2009.
